Gomez speaks to chamber members

Each candidate had an opportunity to present their platform Tuesday morning in front of chamber members and other members in the community. Each of the candidates were given 5 minutes to let the community know why they should vote for us. My speech was 5 minutes and 3 seconds, Lawrence Dale's message was over 11 minutes. September 16, 2008 - 10:41PM By Aaron Aupperlee, city editor Candidates for the Barstow City Council and the mayor addressed members of the Barstow business community at the Chamber of Commerce's breakfast Tuesday . It was the first time during the campaign that many of the candidates were in the same room to address issues facing the community. Most of the candidates focused on improving public safety and growth in Barstow. Following their remarks, members of the audience were able to ask a few questions. Questions ranged from the transit occupancy tax to protecting small businesses to the homeless.
