Christmas Cops and Kids

This morning a few hundred volunteers gathered together in a vacant store once occupied Miller's Outpost in the Barstow Mall to get instructions and load 1,000's of toys in SUV's and trucks. (Watch video, Officer Ellis) This was the 12th annual Christmas Cop's and Kid's event that gives the opportunity for children in the Barstow area get to interact with our local police officers and members of PAL. As we delivered the gifts throughout the day in different neighborhoods, I could see how the children appreciated the toys, game boards. Free pizza coupons donated by Jeff Eason of Strawhat Pizza were also distibuted. A special thanks to the families of Tim Heiden and Jeff Eason for their time and efforts. For all the Barstow Police Officers, Sheriffs and Fireman who volunteered throughout the day, thanks! I want to wish all of a you a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year. Joe
