The Barstow Route 66 Mother Road Museum presents the

h Anniversary Celebration
CLASSIC CAR SHOW
Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
at the Historic Harvey House Casa del Desierto
681 N. First Avenue, Barstow, CA 92311
Drawings for great prizes, 50/50, vendors, food by Juan Pollo (Albert
Okura), enjoy oldies and hot rod tunes by DJ KevDog, open rail cars, Miss
Route 66 Queens, and Father's Day gift to the first 66 Dads!
Vehicle pre-registration is $15.00; June 11 to day of show is $20.00. The
Car Show is open to all vehicles regardless of year, including stock,
classic, unrestored, and motorcycles and hotrods. Event dash plaques and
goody bags will be given to the first 75 entries. Original hand-crafted
trophies will be awarded to the Top Ten and Five Distinctive Awards will be
presented for the Longest Distance, Museum Choice, Under Construction, Hard
Luck Award, and Route 66 Queens' Pick. Admission and parking are free.
The Route 66 Museum offers old photographs of Main Street USA, displays
depicting early travel across the Mojave Desert, a 1947 Harley Davidson
Trike, 1966 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, a 1915 Model-T. and featured
photo exhibits. The museum gift shop offers a variety of specialized gift
and souvenir items. A wide selection of books, magazines, and maps on the
Mother Road, the Mojave Desert, California, travel, trains, mining, and
classic vehicles can be found here.
Casa del Desierto, a former Fred Harvey House, was built in 1910. Harvey
House girls will give tours of the Harvey House Depot where the 1946 "The
Harvey Girls" with Judy Garland was filmed. Two air-conditioned museums with
free admission to visit and the
Barstow Area Chamber of Commerce are located
in the historic building.
