Vince Williams Sr., named Aztec athletic director

Congratulations to Vince, son of former Katy Yslas Yent. I have personally known Vince for many years as a friend. His knowledge of sports and the community will benefit Barstow High School in the years to come. I would like to wish Vince and his wife Joann the best of luck! Joe

BARSTOW - Barstow High School math teacher Vince Williams Sr. will be moving back into the school's main hall this summer. Williams taught in main hall until this year when he was moved to room 20 due to class scheduling and classroom availability. The Barstow Unified School District Board of Education named Williams as the new athletic director during their Tuesday meeting. The new position will relocate Williams into the Athletics office which is located in main hall. He will replace current director Rich Shibley after Shibley's final day on June 29. "I'm excited, and I can't wait to get started," Williams said. "It's great to get a job I've been preparing for and looking forward to for awhile. Coming from Barstow, it's that much more special. I know a lot of people in the community and I think that will be a plus." (Full Story)
