Public Safety Committee

Agenda item for a "Public Safety Committee" is recommended for approval this Monday, this is not a commission! Members of the committee will include William Harmon III, a retired Chiropractor and past Vice-Chairman of the Public Safety Alliance, Dave Strachan, a real estate agent and past President of the Public Safety Alliance, Paul Courtney, businessman and Chairman of the Barstow Fire Department Board. The 2 Councilmembers will be Steve Curran and Joe Gomez. I feel this is a diverse group and hope to add representatives from the police department and a will recommend to the committee to include a female.

Our goal is to be a positive outreach for public safety agencies (police and fire)and the community. One of the items of discussion will be recruiting, retention and moral of the Barstow Police Department. All meetings will be open to the public, officers, fireman and retired public safety employees are encouraged to participate. Joe
