Gasoline Prices, Out of Control!

Gas prices are up for the seventh straight week, and average prices in most local regions are within 20 cents of their all-time record highs, the Automobile Club of Southern California said Friday. The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.205, which is 6 cents higher than last week, 41 cents higher than last month, and 47 cents higher than last year. Just today as we travel to Las Vegas to visit relatives we paid $3.23 per gallon here in Barstow, while my good friend Bruce who lives in Lancaster, OH., was recently complaining about paying $2.29 per gallon. But then again I don't have to shovel snow out of the drive way. I am very disappointed with the local gas station entrepreneurs, the high prices discourage the tourist from traveling or stopping here in Barstow, which in turn effects our local economy, less sales tax revenue, a decline in business for restaurants and fast food establishments. Upon returning home, I immediately went to my computer and googled for a gas price web page, I found a GasBuddy portal for my site. Hopefully, this will encourage travelers to patronize the gas station with the lowest price and persuade the gas station owners to be competitive with Victorville. Joe
